Full blood testing at Klinik Dr. Prevents Jalan Ipoh — diabetes, cholesterol, kidney and liver function, full blood count, thyroid, and more. A single visit, one blood draw, multiple panels checked. Your in-house doctor explains every result in plain language before you leave. Open 24 hours, walk-in welcome.

One blood draw covers many panels. Your GP advises which combination gives the most useful picture for your specific situation.
Malaysia consistently ranks among the countries with the highest rates of Type 2 diabetes in the region — and a substantial proportion of those affected have no idea until a complication like nerve damage, kidney disease, or vision loss reveals it. Blood sugar testing is the only reliable way to identify diabetes and pre-diabetes early.
We offer fasting blood glucose (most accurate for diagnosis — requires 8 hours without food), random blood glucose (no fasting required, useful for screening and monitoring), and HbA1c (shows your average blood sugar over the past 2–3 months — the key monitoring test for patients already managing diabetes). Your doctor explains what the result means in the context of your overall health, not just whether it falls within a reference range.
High cholesterol produces no symptoms at all — there's no pain, no visible sign, no warning until it contributes to a heart attack or stroke. A full fasting lipid panel measures total cholesterol, LDL (the one you want lower), HDL (the one you want higher), and triglycerides — giving your doctor a complete picture of your cardiovascular risk.
What matters isn't a single number in isolation. Your GP considers your age, blood pressure, smoking history, family history, weight, and diabetes status alongside your lipid results to assess your actual cardiovascular risk level and advise on whether lifestyle changes alone are sufficient or whether medication is worth discussing. This is why getting a result and simply looking up "normal range" online misses most of the clinical picture.
Your kidneys filter around 150 litres of blood per day — and early kidney disease produces almost no symptoms until a significant proportion of kidney function has already been lost. Kidney function tests, including creatinine, urea, and eGFR, provide a clear picture of how well your kidneys are working. Early chronic kidney disease is manageable; advanced kidney disease is not.
Liver function tests — ALT, AST, ALP, and bilirubin — detect inflammation, fatty liver disease, and early signs of more serious liver damage. These tests matter particularly for patients on long-term medications, those with diabetes or blood pressure problems (both of which damage kidneys and liver over time), and anyone who drinks alcohol regularly. They're included in our comprehensive health screening packages.
The FBC is one of the most information-rich routine tests available — it measures red blood cells, white blood cells, haemoglobin, haematocrit, and platelets in a single blood draw. It screens for anaemia (a very common cause of fatigue, particularly in women of reproductive age and the elderly), infection or inflammation (elevated white cells), and platelet disorders that affect clotting.
If you've been tired for months despite sleeping well, getting breathless on stairs that never used to be an issue, or looking paler than usual, an FBC is often the first step toward an answer. It's also used to monitor patients on certain medications — some antibiotics, some cancer treatments, and some long-term drugs affect blood cell production and need regular checking. Results are available within the same visit for most basic parameters.
The thyroid gland controls how fast your body uses energy, how warm you feel, how quickly your heart beats, and how your mood and weight are regulated. When it malfunctions — in either direction — the symptoms are wide-ranging and frequently attributed to stress, poor sleep, or simply getting older.
Hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) causes fatigue, unexplained weight gain, cold intolerance, hair thinning, constipation, and low mood. Hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid) causes weight loss, palpitations, anxiety, sweating, and sometimes a visible swelling in the neck. Both are common and both are manageable once identified. The primary screening test is TSH — if abnormal, we add Free T4 and Free T3. A single blood test can change the picture completely for someone who's been struggling with these symptoms for years.
Straightforward from arrival to results — most visits completed in under 45 minutes.
No appointment needed. Let our team know you're here for a blood test. They'll check fasting requirements for the specific tests you need.
Your doctor takes a brief history and advises which panel or combination of tests is most clinically appropriate based on your symptoms and background.
A small amount of blood taken from the arm — under 2 minutes. One draw covers multiple panels. Samples processed on-site or sent to the laboratory.
Your GP goes through every result with you — what each number means, what's relevant to your health, and what (if anything) needs action or monitoring.
