Minor injuries are among the most common reasons Malaysians visit a 24-hour clinic — a sprained ankle at the end of a football game, a kitchen knife cut deep enough for stitches, a burn from a cooking splash, or a finger jammed in a car door. At Klinik Dr. Prevents Kota Kemuning on Jalan Anggerik Vanilla, our doctors assess, treat, and manage minor injuries from first presentation through to follow-up wound care. We have on-site X-ray to exclude fractures, a fully stocked procedure room for wound suturing, and wound dressing for ongoing care.
The first 6 hours after injury are critical for wound care — clean closure within this window gives the best cosmetic result and lowest infection risk. X-ray for suspected fractures guides whether the patient can be managed with splinting and analgesia at the clinic, or needs referral for orthopaedic reduction. Tetanus booster status is checked and boosted if >5 years. Animal bites — including cat and dog bites common in Malaysian residential areas — are assessed for rabies risk and treated with thorough wound irrigation and antibiotics. Patients from Kota Kemuning, Bukit Rimau, Kemuning Utama, Bandar Botanic, Kemuning Greenhills, Setia Alam, USJ, and Shah Alam reach us in 5 to 12 minutes' drive.
Clean laceration closed within 6 hours for best healing. Local anaesthetic, appropriate suture material by anatomy, written aftercare. Stitches removed 5-14 days depending on site. Follow-up dressing care included.
Cool with running water 20 minutes (not ice). Blisters assessed — intact blisters left; burst blisters debrided. Appropriate burn dressing (non-adherent, hydrocolloid). Oral antibiotics for infected burns. Hospital referral for burns >15% BSA or full thickness.
On-site 24-hour X-ray determines whether fracture is present, displaced, or requiring orthopaedic referral. Most non-displaced fractures (especially of fingers, toes, wrist) managed with splinting and analgesia at clinic level.
Thorough irrigation with saline or water is the most critical step — reduces rabies transmission risk dramatically. Antibiotics (co-amoxiclav) for bite wounds. Rabies risk assessed based on animal type, vaccination status, and biting behaviour. PEP referral arranged if indicated.
Last tetanus booster noted at every wound presentation. Booster given if >5 years since last dose or wound is particularly contaminated. Tetanus immunoglobulin for high-risk wounds in incompletely vaccinated patients.
RICE: Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation. Anti-inflammatory medication. X-ray to exclude fracture. Strapping or splinting for support. Return-to-sport guidance. Physiotherapy referral for significant ligament injuries.
Open 24 hours — the closest 24-hour clinic for most residents within 5 to 12 minutes. Combine with X-ray and ongoing wound dressing in the same clinic.

Common questions from patients across the 5 km area.
Within 6 hours of injury for clean wounds gives the best healing and lowest scar risk. Beyond 6-8 hours, some wounds may be better managed open (with daily dressings) rather than sutured closed, due to infection risk. Come in immediately — we're open 24 hours.
The doctor makes this judgment based on point tenderness, deformity, inability to weight-bear, and clinical assessment. Not every injury needs X-ray, but we have on-site 24-hour imaging for when it does. Clear fractures, suspected fractures in children, and wrist/ankle injuries meeting criteria are all X-rayed same-visit.
Dog bites require immediate thorough wound irrigation (the single most important step), assessment of the wound, and antibiotics. Rabies risk is assessed based on the animal's vaccination status, behaviour, and whether it's a stray. If rabies PEP is indicated, we arrange referral to the nearest hospital providing the post-exposure vaccine series.
Cool with running water for 20 minutes (not ice, butter, or toothpaste). Cover with a clean non-fluffy dressing. Paracetamol for pain. Come to clinic for any burn larger than your hand, any burn on the face, hands, genitals, or a joint, any burn that looks white or leathery, or any burn in a child.
Not immediately — a sprain needs time for ligament healing (typically 4-8 weeks for grade 2-3 sprains). Returning too early risks re-injury and chronic instability. The doctor gives a graded return-to-sport timeline and may recommend physiotherapy for significant ligament injuries.
